Fernweh Painting Owen Normand

Painted in the South of Italy. This piece is the first in a change of style for me. I am less focused on realism and allowing myself more freedom to express and evoke emotion through my use of colour and atmosphere. This painting is inspired by my love of travel. The German word 'Fernweh', which means the opposite of homesickness, a desire to be somewhere else distant, also influenced the feel of the painting.
