PEYOTE SEED CUT No.17B-1 Painting Jaime Domínguez

The Peyote seed cut is a metaphor that I apply to represent the idea of what a seed split in half would look like and obviously it is the perfect pretext to implement the overlapped degraded patterns that I use in all my work to replace its architecture or morphology, which takes sense in aesthetic terms since its composition is closely related to all the pieces in the series. Peyote seeds cut B are extracted from pieces from a previous series which are contained in a rectangular blank canvas that frames the seeds and for this new version they jump out of the canvas to claim their own space. Peyote Seed Cut No.17B-1 is a pill shaped piece of canvas measuring 180 cm x 120 cm x 5 cm and is ready to hang.
Note: The colors represented in this piece may vary depending on the device from which it is viewed.
